Most Important..... Don't play in your back yard. GO NATIONAL !!!!!
Really, aren't you wanting to play for a college that competes Nationally? So where do you think they will look for players? They may select a few from their backyard, but they want the best of the best. They are going to the Exposure Tournaments where the best play.
Let's say you discover that you are talented enough to play at the top level of Travel Ball. How do you find the right team that plays in all the right places to be seen?
First, I'm going to list the Top Exposure Tournaments in the Nation. Check out these sites, and if you and your family agree, that you have the time, the money, and the skill level to go to these tournaments, then look at the list of teams that are signed up and begin contacting the coaches or checking out their websites.
This is an upper tier level of ball and is not run the way your local teams run. Many of these teams are coached by people that do not have a daughters on the team, many of these coaches do this as their means of income. What exactly does this mean? No daddy ball. Your child will not get favored because she is the daughter of the coach or a friend. You make it on your skill level or you don't...... Sink of Swim. You improve or you get left behind. Many of these programs are run like College Programs. Because they are run like college programs, it is not uncommon to see a player from one state play on a team from another state or even cross country. Due to the Tournaments being all over the country and all players having to travel to get to the tournaments, it doesn't really matter where the player lives.
This enables these teams to recruit from all over the country to form competitive teams. hum....... sounds like the same way colleges recruit.
So playing on one of these type teams does really help prepare you for college, and most importantly, lets the college coaches see how you perform against some of the best players in the nation.
The Goal of the ASA 18 GOLD Teams is to make it to and win the ASA 18 Gold National Championship which for travel ball is the equivalent to the Women's College World Series. Both held in Oklahoma City at the Hall of Fame Stadium. Many players that you see at the Gold Nationals, you will see several years later at the College World Series
